Inflating:

We recommend inflating your BOAT MATE® between 1-2 psi. You will want to allow some room for expansion for when temperatures rise, (you should be able to depress the BOAT MATE® approximately 1/2 inch with your thumb.) If you use the pump supplied, 100 manual pumps should inflate the BOAT MATE® perfectly.

The Valve:

We use the Halkey Roberts valve which allows for quick inflation and deflation. Our included hand pump takes about 2 minutes, otherwise feel free to use a foot pump or air compressor. Note: The white plastic spring-loaded plunger must be in the out position when filling the BOAT MATE® to prevent air loss.

Dock Guard:

This will be seated up against your dock to prevent any excessive wear and tear from rubbing with normal back and forth movements from any waves.

Tying to Your Dock:

You can use simple bungee straps on your dock's cleats, or use marine ropes for an all-season tie up. Whichever method you use, ensure that your BOAT MATE® is properly secured to protect your boat. The BOAT MATE® ropes must be perpendicular to the BOAT MATE® and dock. Do not attach any ropes at less than a 90 degree angle. (Anything less will put an unnecessary strain on the D-Ring connection and possible cause detachment).

Off-Season Storage:

Before deflating, use a soft cloth and mild detergent to wipe off any algae or debris from your BOAT MATE®. Once thoroughly dried and deflated, simply roll up for the next season and store away in a dry place.
